CITY OF WHEATON: Parking Lot 8 Construction Notice

Construction

City of Wheaton issued the following announcement on Sept. 14.

A contractor hired by the City of Wheaton will begin improvements to City Parking Lot 8, located at the southwest corner of Blanchard Street and Crescent Street, beginning the week of Sept. 17. Crews will be grinding and resurfacing the asphalt pavement and performing storm sewer, curb, and sidewalk repairs.

During construction, Lot 8 will be closed to allow crews to perform the improvements. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 17. Work will be completed and the lot will be reopened by Monday, Oct. 1.

While Lot 8 is closed, commuters may continue to use Lot 6, located directly north of Lot 8 and adjacent to the train tracks, or Lot 7, located directly west of Lot 8 and adjacent to Williston Street.

During the closure, commuters may also park in posted 4-hour street parking spaces beyond the 4-hour time restriction at the locations presented on this map.

Drivers must prominently display their parking permit to avoid being ticketed. If permit-holders inadvertently receive a ticket, please contact the Engineering Department at 630-260-2065. Please note that “No Parking” areas will continue to be fully enforced and that parking in front of fire hydrants is prohibited.

Drivers may find alternate metered and timed parking locations listed on the City’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/parking.
