CITY OF NAPERVILLE: Student Representatives Sought for City Boards and Commissions

Board

City of Naperville issued the following announcement on Sept. 6.

Mayor Steve Chirico and the Naperville City Council would like to extend an invitation to Naperville high school students to fill student positions on several City boards and commissions. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 24, 2018.

Interested students should apply online by clicking the “apply” button on the appropriate board or commission web page. A complete list of boards and commissions, as well as their meeting dates and times and more information about each group, is available at www.naperville.il.us/boards. Please note that not all sections of the application will apply to students. In lieu of a resumé, students may submit a statement of interest that should indicate their year in school.

Preference is given to high school seniors; however, all high school students may apply. Those students who served on a board or commission in previous years will need to reapply. Students should anticipate actively participating on the board or commission; therefore, consideration should be given to the time commitment required.

Students are invited to participate in the following boards and commissions: Advisory Commission on Disabilities, Building Review Board, Downtown Advisory Commission, Financial Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Advisory Commission, Naperville Public Library Board of Trustees, Naperville Settlement Museum Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, Public Utilities Advisory Board, Riverwalk Commission, Sister Cities Commission, Special Events Cultural Amenities Commission and Transportation Advisory Board.

Students in need of more information should contact Emy Trotz in the Mayor’s Office at (630) 420-6018 or trotze@naperville.il.us.
