Butler School District 53 issued the following announcement on July 27.
Have you ever wondered how Butler District 53 stacks up to other school districts? Have you asked what is the true value of an excellent education?
The District created a document that illustrates the value of what taxpayers and parents receive for their tax dollars.
The document, “The Value of a Butler Education” summarizes the performance of our schools from some exceptional student test scores to continued positive fiscal health.
Most notably it shows that students, on average, are 1-2 grades ahead of their peers nationally.
It also shows that D53 ranks second among all high performing schools in the state, and that the instructional cost is about in the middle of the 18 other high performing school districts in this region and moreover, is trending downward.
The document also details areas of focus in personalizing learning and strengthening curriculum and instruction.
“The involvement and support of our parents, teachers, staff and community have helped us reach these goals and continue our plan to improve in all areas,” said Superintendent Dr. Heidi Wennstrom.
