VILLAGE OF CAROL STREAM: Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Show

Village of Carol Stream issued the following announcement on June 26.

Gather at the Ross Ferraro Town Center with family, friends and neighbors to celebrate on the evening of Wednesday, July 4th beginning at 7:00 pm when Prairie Station, the suburbs’ most talked about modern country band performs a 2-hour concert from the Town Center Gazebo stage. Their playlist includes covers of the hottest music from today, as well as yesterday’s country staples you miss and love.

Food Truck Row will open at 6:00 pm when Toasty Cheese, The Roaming Hog, Golden Eagle Hot Dogs, Mario’s Cart, Cup Cakes for Courage, Perk & Pickle and Culver’s Frozen Custard will serve their signature entrees including gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, BBQ, hot dogs, tacos, veggie burgers, cupcakes, and frozen custard. After the concert, the Village and the Carol Stream Park District will sponsor Fireworks choreographed to patriotic music that will begin at 9:20 pm sharp. Public viewing areas include Veterans Park, Mitchell Lakes and the Town Center grounds while Hampe Park due northwest of the Town Center is a restricted area and off limits for the viewing of fireworks.

On the July 4th holiday, the Police Department reminds residents that there will be no parking on the following streets from 7:00 am – 11:30 pm:

EAST SIDE: Boone Dr., Bowie Dr., and Idaho Tr. (N of Lies Rd.) 

ODD SIDE: Dearborn Cir. and Adler Ln. 

BOTH SIDES: Trevi Dr., Shaftesbury St., Fountain View Dr. (North of Lies) and Goldenhill St.

In addition, Lies Rd from Idaho Trl. east to Gary Ave. will be closed to through traffic that same evening from 7:00 -11:00 pm. Signs indicating local traffic only for residents living in the area east of Kuhn Rd. will be in place prior to the road’s closure. All other motorists should take North Ave. or Army Trail Rd. as an alternate route. Due to limited paved parking at the Ross Ferraro Town Center, the Village will provide shuttle service to and from posted parking lots along the Lies Rd. Industrial Corridor from 7:00 pm–10:30 pm. Residents and the general public are encouraged to utilize the FREE shuttle service to remote lots.

The Ross Ferraro Town Center is located at the corner of Gary Ave. and Lies Rd. and is the site for the Summer Concert Series.
