Cost of college went up for all students at Empire Beauty School-Hanover Park

Tuition and fees rose 6.1 percent for 2017-18 at Empire Beauty School-Hanover Park, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $19,260 to attend the private for-profit school this year $1,110 more than the $18,150 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 30 students received grants or scholarships totaling $131,400 and 35 students took out student loans totaling more than $370,595.

Including all undergraduates, 98 students used grants or scholarships totaling $362,902. Another 96 took out $797,680 in federal student loans.
