City of Wheaton issued the following announcement on May 15.
Crews contracted by the City of Wheaton will be resurfacing West Street from Roosevelt Road to Wesley Street starting the week of May 20, 2018. This work will include grinding down the existing pavement in order to put down a new layer of top pavement. It will also include replacing sidewalk corners and some curb.
West Street will remain open during resurfacing. It will be reduced to one lane of travel while paving operations are in progress. All lanes should be open during non-working hours and on the weekends.
This project is anticipated to take approximately 6 weeks.
