Report: Hinsdale spent $17,704 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Hinsdale Community Consolidated School District 181 is up 20 percent from five years ago, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dupage County school district spent $14,750 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,704 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3951 to 3837.

Hinsdale's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
