City of Elmhurst Historic Preservation Commission met March 14.
Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:
Vice Chairperson Tellefsen called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. Roll was called, and the following Commissioners were present: Falls, Granke, Kurdas, Tellefsen, O’Leary. Commissioner O’Leary left at 7:35. City liaison Franz was present.
Approval of Minutes of Historic Preservation Commission held on November 8, 2017
Commissioner Granke moved to approve the minutes. Commissioner Kurdas seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
Public Comment
None.
Database Review Franz distributed flash drives with the database to Commissioners. It was noted that the quality of the photos for downtown survey are not that great because they were taken from photocopies.
Historic Preservation Ordinance draft edits review and discussion Franz reported that she spoke to the City Attorney and he recommended the minor edits in the draft distributed. Commissioner O’Leary made a motion to move forward with the draft text to the PA&S Committee. Commissioner Falls seconded the motion. The motion passed with a voice vote of 5-0.
Historic Districts Draft Memo Discussion Franz reported that she discussed this item with the Assistant City Manager and she is waiting on direction on whether the memo should be addressed to the Mayor or City Manager.
Other Business
The Commission discussed potential landmark nominations. It was noted that 2 Commissioners are not available on April 11th and the possibility of meeting on April 18th was discussed. There is a landmark nomination for the next meeting. Franz will follow up with Commissioners to confirm the April date. Franz will provide an updated copy of the Commission Goals memo for the next meeting.
