DuPage County Sheriff's Merit Commission met December 21.

Meeting convened at 8:30 a.m. in the Jack T. Knuepfer Administration Building, 421 N. County Farm Rd. Wheaton, IL, Conference Room 3500A.
Commissioners Present: Tony Reyes, Chairman
John Smith, Vice-Chairman
Carole Vasbinder, Secretary
Others Present: Patti Weber, Assistant to the Commission
Public Comment-
A candidate who took the 2017 test was present to ask about the Merit Commission process and to request his test scores.
MIA Interviews-
Chairman Reyes called for a motion to go into executive session pursuant to 5 ILCS (c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee. Commissioner Smith moved. Seconded by Chairman Reyes. Motion carried. The Commission convened into Executive Session at 8:40 a.m.

Chairman Reyes called for a motion to return from executive session at 9:00 a.m. to go into open session. Commissioner Smith moved. Seconded by Commissioner Vasbinder. Motion carried.
Ms. Weber asked the Commission about a candidate’s qualifications and whether or not he can move forward in the process. The Commission review his qualifications according to the Rules, Regulations, and Procedures and will allow him to move forward. The Commission also requested Counsel attend their next meeting with revisions to the Rules and Regulations that were previously requested.
Ms. Weber presented the 2017 written exam rank list. Chairman Reyes called for a motion to approve the list. Commissioner Smith moved. Seconded by Commissioner Vasbinder. Roll call vote. All ayes. Motion carried. List was certified.
Adjournment Chairman Reyes called for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Smith moved. Seconded by Commissioner Vasbinder. Roll call vote. All ayes. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
