ExteNet Systems has partnered with Illinois Valley Cellular to bring better connectivity to North Central Illinois, according to a press release.
Customers in urban and rural areas throughout the region are expected to benefit from the partnership. The combined company services more than 200,000 people across eight counties. ExteNet is offering customers the option to choose its preferred RAN (radio access network) vendor and will deliver enhanced services.
“While LTE is increasingly common in urban areas, rural communities have a noticeable divide in their advanced cellular service offerings,” Jason Osborne, vice president of business development and strategic initiatives for ExteNet Systems, said in the press release. “Illinois Valley Cellular was challenged to provide advanced wireless connectivity to its customers under an affordable economic model with legacy network architectures.
"ExteNet’s EPC solution will provide Illinois Valley Cellular the flexibility to use any RAN platform to deploy LTE and other next-generation wireless services in a cost-effective manner.”
