The calls in West Chicago included 100 fires - 46 structure fires, 17 vehicle fires and 34 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $644,335 in fire loss - or about $6,443 per fire.
The department also received 451 false calls, including 16 malicious calls and 435 other false calls.
One fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.
The West Chicago FPD Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 39 active employees and 16 retired or inactive employees, was $1,731,213 in debt as of May 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $17,312 for every fire in 2016.
