Two Downers Grove Republicans are taking Illinois' jobless woes into their own hands, at least in DuPage County, according to a press release.
Rep. David S. Olsen and Sen. John Curran will join House Minority Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) in hosting a free job fair from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the CORE Fitness Center, 16028 W. 127th St. in Lemont.
Workshops include understanding the process for state employment at 9 a.m., making a strong resume at 9:30 a.m., networking at 10:30 a.m. and interviewing at 11:30 a.m.

Olsen said in the news release that more than 100 employers will be on hand, and Curran said creating more jobs and increasing the employment rate are priorities.
“With my colleagues Leader Durkin and Rep. Olsen, I think we are hosting a great event with a wide variety of job opportunities to appeal to workers of all experience levels and skill sets," Curran said, according to the press release. "I encourage all our job-seekers to attend because the companies are coming prepared to hire."
