Don St. Clair spent six years developing a financial template for the Glen Ellyn Park Board, making the park district more financial sound and smart, according to the village’s website.
His efforts were rewarded recently when he was named Glen Ellyn Park District “Volunteer of the Year.”
St. Clair, a resident of Glen Ellyn for more than 40 years, has helped save money for the community and made more efficient use of financial resources, according to the website. He has worked on a long-term capital-asset replacement program, analyses of comparisons with other park districts, as well as financial analyses of projects.
Park Board President Jay Kinzler said on the website that St. Clair's work helped the park district reach an AA-plus bond rating, and it now has a yearly operating surplus of $800,000.
St. Clair has a master of business administration from the University of Chicago.
