Lawyers Jennifer Martyn of Woodridge and Scott Hardek of Elmhurst have joined the board of directors of the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, the district reported recently.

The Friends is as an independent fundraising branch of the county’s forest preserve division, with its own board and executive members.

Martyn is a principal in the Wheaton law firm of Puchalski & Martyn, while Hardek is a partner in the Lisle law firm of Dykema Gossett PLLC. They each boast more than two decades of experience, with notable participation in civic ventures.

Martyn serves as DuPage County’s deputy public guardian as well as deputy public administrator. Hardek, an active participant in the DuPage County Bar Association, also chaired its Civil Practice and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

“Jennifer and Scott will both be tremendous assets to the Friends board,” Joe Cantore, president of the Forest Preserve District, said. “They can be counted on to be true advocates for district initiatives.”

The Friends organization welcomes donations at dupageforest.org/friends from individuals, groups and corporations. Contributors receive a “stuffed plush owl,” credit in the organization’s annual report and special benefits.
