The city of Warrenville announced the police department's surplus and seized vehicle auction last week.
The vehicles are being sold through Obenauf Auction Service Inc.
Interested parties must bid through the Obenauf website. The online auction will end at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, or five minutes after the final bid is placed. Auctions automatically extend by an additional five minutes if a bid is placed in the last five minutes of the auction.
The auction site has specific instructions regarding bidding, deposits, payment and pickup of the vehicles.
Currently up for auction is a surplus 2007 Ford Taurus. It is a city-owned vehicle. The Ford is in good condition, with 79,697 miles on the odometer. The check brake system light is lit. The car starts and runs, but it is being sold in an as-is condition with no reserve.
The second vehicle up for auction is a police-seized 2007 Honda Accord Sedan. It has 149,321 miles on the odometer. The battery is dead, but with a jump the car will start and run. The interior is in poor condition and the exterior has damage on the passenger side. The overall condition of the vehicle is unknown. It is sold as-is with no reserve.
Both vehicles are located at the Warrenville Police Department. To inspect the vehicles or arrange for a pickup after the auction is complete, contact April Garcia at 630-836-3070, ext. 2076.
