Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 79.2 percent of Lake Park High School's (LPHS) 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For LPHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 77.4 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two- and four-year colleges.
Enrollment at LPHS in 2015 was 2,698; 714 (26.46 percent) were seniors.
Also according to ISBE, 61.6 percent of LPHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, versus an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
Among high schools in DuPage, the class of 2015 college readiness rates at Metea Valley High School (71 percent), Glenbard West High School (65.6 percent), Glenbard South High School (64.3 percent), and Wheaton Warrenville South High School (63.9 percent) were all higher than at LPHS. Downers Grove South High School (56.9 percent), Fenton High School (40.5 percent), Woodstock High School (54 percent), Nashville Community High School (54.9 percent) and Glenbard North High School (55.7 percent) were all lower.
LPHS students did better on math (53.7 percent) and English (75.7 percent) and worse on science (51.1 percent) and reading (51.9 percent).
Only 35.3 percent of LPHS students were college ready in all four subjects, according to ISBE.
