Report: Lisle Community Unified School District 202 receives $622.84 per student from feds.

Lisle Community Unified School District 202 received $622.84 per student from the federal government in 2015, or approximately $971,639.76, according to data published by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

The $971,639.76 equals approximately 3.4 percent of District 202's total budget. The state average for federal funding of public school districts is 8 percent, according to ISBE.

The Obama administration is threatening to pull federal funding of local schools that refuse to follow Washington directives. Most recently, it ordered all public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.

Chicago Public Schools gets 16 percent of its funding from the federal government, or twice the state average. Chicago property taxpayers pay for only 49 percent of their school bill; District 202 pays for 88.2 percent.

District 202 spent a total of $18,319 per student in 2015.

Among DuPage school districts, CUSD 201 ($843.86 per pupil) and Naperville CUSD 203 ($2,240.56 per pupil) receive more money from the federal government than District 202.

Hinsdale Township HSD 86 ($239.56 per pupil) and CHSD 99 ($577.29 per pupil) receive less.

Hinsdale Township High School District 86 spends the most money on public schools in DuPage, at $18,428 per pupil.
