In a meeting rescheduled from its original April 21 date, the Foreign Fire Insurance Board of Elk Grove Village’s Fire Department will hold an informational session at 7 p.m. today, April 18 at Fire Station 7.
After reports from the chairman, vice-chairman and treasurer, the department will then hear its education committee present updates on a submitted application and a course completion by two constituents.
Following up on old budget topics, the group will review goals concerning vendor correspondence, battery-operated rescue equipment, bedding and supplies for all Village fire stations, including cookware and a fitness room floor surface. Extrication tools will run the department approximately $30,000, while the flooring will cost $16,000.
First responders need a good night’s sleep just like other consumers, so Simmons Beautyrest mattresses are scheduled for delivery to Elk Grove’s firefighters starting April 16 as a result of a previous vote. The budget lists the investment as totaling $25,000.
Furniture will continue to headline the conversation as the Insurance Board considers recliners for Station 8, along with announcements concerning budget review, handbook distribution and the board’s next upcoming meeting, scheduled for May 19.
Elk Grove Village’s Fire Department is located at 101 Biesterfield Rd.
