Lombard Board approves local tourism grant for Civil War Re-enactment

Lombard

The Village of Lombard, Illinois Board of Trustees discussed a local tourism grant application to benefit the village’s Civil War Re-enactment event during its regular meeting on March 17.

The grant, offered by the Lombard Historical Society, would total $8,550 from hotel and motel funds, and would offset the cost of entertainment, supplies and marketing for the popular event. The Civil War Re-enactment will take place July 22-24 at Four Seasons Park in Lombard.

Other items before the board included approval of accounts payable, approval of a request to purchase a Clark Forklift from National Lift Truck ($21,620), and the recommendation of a Economic Incentive Agreement Recommendation for a sales tax revenue sharing agreement for Bluestone Single Tenant Properties LLC for the properties at 505-537 W. North Ave. and 715-733 N. Columbine Ave.

The board also received reports from the village’s various committees, and discussed a variety of zoning ordinances regarding recycling, garbage receptacles, signage, and shopping areas within residential districts.
