Elmhurst City Council to appoint interim fire chief Monday night

The Elmhurst City Council is expected to hire an interim fire chief during its next regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. 209 N. York St.

The council also will consider a liquor-license request from Elmhurst Craft Kitchen & Bar.

Under the consent agenda, the council will consider an Illinois Department of Transportation maintenance agreement tied to the Webster Avenue Stormwater Improvement Project as well as proposals to purchase an aerial bucket truck and several snow-plow-ready dump trucks.

The council also will consider several ordinances, including one to grant a franchise to NICOR Gas for city service, as well as non-exclusive license agreements between the city and the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Elmhurst Running Club.

The council also will hear reports on the city’s Emergency Traffic Control Plan, as well as  tax-increment-financing (TIF) and sales-tax incentive requests from Wilkins Hyundai Mazda and a TIF incentive request from Len's Ace Hardware.

The meeting will be preceded by an executive session to discuss city personnel issues, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2.
