With an expansion project having been completed, the Village of Lombard reopened the Hammerschmidt Commuter Lot downtown this week.
Located on the north edge of the Metra West commuter train line, at the intersection of Main Street and St. Charles Road, the lot offers 92 new parking spaces. With the coming closure of the South Main Street lot, the new spaces in the Hammerschmidt lot will work to reduce parking congestion. The lot features daily-fee-only, no-permit parking spaces.
The remodeled lot has several time-saving and commuter-friendly features, including a new payment box, a shelter for protection during inclement weather and a convenient pay-by-phone app (available at passportparking.com/park).
