Spreading joy to families throughout the community, the Lombard Fire Department recently completed its 15th Annual Toy Drive.
This year's festivities were described as the most successful in the event's 15-year history. The drive ended with a Toy Parade along Lombard’s Main Street, then the toys were unloaded at Yorktown Center.
The highly anticipated event, hosted by Lombard Fire Fighters Union Local 3009 and several local school districts, raised approximately $3,000 in cash donations and more than $10,000 worth of toys, diapers and formula for underprivileged families.
“This has been another year of incredible community support from our businesses, families and our Lombard schools,” firefighter/paramedic Josh Hays, the toy parade’s coordinator, said.
