U.S. Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL) recently recognized the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce for its dedication in giving veterans sustainable employment opportunities in the community.

“The Aurora Chamber recently received the Three Star Chamber of Valor Award by the United States Chamber of Commerce, and was also recognized for their participation in the Hiring Our Heroes program, which encourages local businesses to provide access to good-paying jobs for the men and women who have served our country in uniform,” Foster said.

Foster also singled out several local businesses in Aurora that have taken the lead in hiring and supporting veterans: Old Second Bank, Alarm Detection Systems and the Studio at 46 West, which is a veteran-owned business.

“I would also like to join the chamber in recognizing the Roosevelt Aurora Post Number 84 of the American Legion for their work in serving the community,” Foster said. “I’d like to thank the members of the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce and all of the local businesses in our community who have made hiring veterans a priority.”
