DuPage County will host a public hearing on Tuesday regarding a grant opportunity from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at the county's JTK Administration Building, 421 N. County Road, room 1-500B in Wheaton.
The county is eligible to receive HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding pursuant to a competitive application process under the CDBG-National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC). The CDBG-NDRC will award up to $1 billion to communities affected by recent natural disasters.
The competition involves two phases. The county submitted the phase 1 application in March to address needs from the April 2013 flood. In June, the county was notified that it would advance to phase 2, which involves the creation of projects and programs to help address needs and prepare for any future weather events.
The county's CDBG-NDRC phase 2 application is open for public comment through Saturday, Oct. 24.
DuPage County is located at 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.
