The DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation received a $200,000 donation from Daniel L. Goodwin, chairman and CEO of the Inland Real Estate Group Inc., Tuesday.
The donation will be used to replace the roof on the museum's building and should be completed in late November with interior work to be completed in the following months. The total cost of the project is estimated at $450,000, with the balance being provided by the DuPage County Board.
Members of the DuPage Historical Museum Foundation expressed gratitude to Goodwin for the donation.
“We have exhausted many avenues to fund needed repairs, including winning a state grant, which fell victim to the state budget crisis,” DuPage County Board member and member of the historical museum board Amy Grant said. “We are fortunate this need will not go unanswered, thanks to the leadership of Mr. Dan Goodwin. I know I speak on behalf of the entire Historical Museum Foundation when I express my gratitude for this gift.”
The DuPage County Historical Museum is dedicated to the collection and preservation of material documenting the county's history.
