The College of DuPage Board of Trustees has created a transition team that will be led by Northwestern University Professor Don Haider.
“Professor Haider’s reputation precedes him. He’s the ideal person to lead this transition team to study our operations here at the College of DuPage and report to this board on how we can improve them,” Trustee Kathy Hamilton said.
Haider, who has been a faculty member at the Kellogg School of Management since 1973, said having a transition team will bring new ideas to the college.
“Any time in our society that we have a fundamental change in democratic governance of an organization ... it's a good time to have a transition, to have some independent and outside eyes to come and have a look,” he said.
Haider’s background includes serving as budget director and chief financial officer for the city of Chicago; vice chairman of the Chicago School Finance Authority; deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury; and assistant to three directors of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. The Stanford University alumnus also earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in political science from Columbia University.
