Avian USA Machinery LLC, a part of Avian Granulator group, has opened a location at 1901 Powis Court in West Chicago.
Avian manufactures size-reduction machinery for the plastic, rubber and recycling industry. The 35,000-square-foot West Chicago facility will be a global hub for the company and will house shredding and granulating machines. Sales and service for North American customers will be handled there.
Avian Granulator Group is based in Sydney, Australia, and its production arm is based in Shanghai, China. The company operates manufacturing, service and distribution centers in Australia, China, Croatia, Germany, India, Russia and the Middle East. The company came to North American, Vice President of Operations Andy Gu said, because of rising manufacturing equipment costs in China.
West Chicago Mayor Ruben Pineda expressed his gratitude to Avian officials, pledging to support them in any way he can.
