DuPage County said Monday the DuPage County Economic Development and Planning Department has been renamed the Building & Zoning Department.
The Building & Zoning Department will encompass the Building Division, Zoning & Planning Division and Environmental Division. The department offers services including building permitting, planning and zoning for unincorporated areas, as well as environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
"Our goal is to offer customers one-stop-shopping in the building process," Development Committee Chairman Sam Tomatore said. "Residents can get their questions answered, obtain necessary permits and schedule inspections as quickly as possible. It's the same, efficient service with a new name. Residents can also track their progress toward obtaining various permits on the Building & Zoning webpage."
