This year marks what is believed to be the first time a DuPage County chairman has proposed a budget in September for the following fiscal year despite the state budget not being passed yet.
DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin said Sept. 9 that the board is aware of the necessity and need county residents have for social, respite and community services.
"My fiscal year 2016 budget can best be described as a maintenance budget that strives to provide flexibility amidst these financial uncertainties," Cronin said. "We remain committed to public safety, our human service grant fund, support for our County Convalescent Center, road, stormwater and public works projects."
