The village of Lombard's electronic commuter parking pay stations started to operate this week in three locations: near the south side of the pedestrian underpass, next to the ramp and stairs; near the west side of the Hammerschmidt daily fee lot; and on the north end of the pedestrian underpass stairs and ramp.

In addition to these new boxes, a mobile payment parking option now enables daily fee parkers at the Lombard Metra Station to pay their parking fees on their mobile phones. This eliminates any need to visit the pay boxes at all, though using the mobile payment option incurs a 37-cent transaction fee to Passport Parking in addition to the regular daily parking fee. The mobile payment app is available on the Apple Store for iPhones as well as Google Play for Android phones. Users can also register online through Facebook or at passportparking.com/park. A verification code will be sent to the user, enabling access to finalize the registration process.

Lombard daily fee parkers must now use Zone Number 60148 as well as the number of their parking space to pay the fee. Mobile payment users must have a minimum of $10 on their accounts to use the mobile option.
