Warrenville, Illinois, officials discuss state issues in Springfield

Warrenville

Warrenville Mayor David Brummel, Alderman Leah Goodman and City Administrator John Coakley, along with 40 other DuPage municipal officials, traveled to Springfield on May 13 and 14 to discuss important issues with state legislators and Gov. Bruce Rauner's staff.

Based on the meeting, those participating left with a small degree of optimism that local revenues would not be cut as deeply as Rauner previously proposed.

Legislators and the governor's staff expressed differing opinions as to whether the budget would be finalized by May 31 or delayed beyond the start of the state fiscal year on July 1.

Among those attending were State Rep. Peter Breen (R-IL), Lisle and Winfield mayors and city administrators, as well as managers from Wheaton, Lisle and Winfield.
