Mayor Craig B. Johnson of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, announced a plan to increase village brand awareness to draw in businesses and retain existing businesses at the State of the Village Address on May 7.
The focal point of the initiative consists of a multimedia marketing campaign that will include television and radio advertisements on major media outlets, print media and billboard placements throughout the O’Hare region.
Johnson unveiled two commercials that highlight Elk Grove as a premiere location for manufacturing.
“Our efforts are a direct response to the overwhelming success of our ongoing marketing efforts," Johnson said. "We are focused on broadening our message to counter the ongoing attempts of surrounding states to poach businesses out of Illinois from communities like ours. Our marketing to date has added a significant amount of value to the community, and we want to be sure that continues."
The ad campaign builds upon the Beyond Business Friendly economic development marketing program, which started up in 2012. The village's industrial vacancy rate declined by almost 50 percent, with a 94 percent occupancy rate to date due to the program.
