The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Listening Tour is coming to the City of St. Charles, Illinois, this Friday at 3 p.m., meeting in council chambers at 2 E. Main St.
St. Charles is one of several communities across the state that will be hosting the listening meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the state's infrastructure needs and required steps to ensure proper investments to keep the state competitive into the future.
The meetings, held in conjunction with the Illinois Capital Development Board, are designed to engage residents, businesses, local leaders and various stakeholders in identifying the infrastructure challenges the community faces, along with setting the priorities for future investing.
Among the topics that will be discussed include establishing needs and priorities, improving deteriorating roads, bridges and transit systems, providing better access across multiple transportation modes and reinvesting in state facilities, such as airports, schools and parks.
A survey is available online at www.idot.illinois.gov for those unable to attend the event.
