Bensenville, Illinois, is calling on residents to advance legislation in the Illinois General Assembly to mitigate Chicago O'Hare International Airport impacts.
Senate Bills 635 and 637 are scheduled for a House Committee Hearing next week.
S.B. 635 increases the maximum number of runways allowed at O’Hare during a specified period of time, allowing Chicago to keep two diagonal runways in operation, resulting in greater flight distribution.
S.B. 637 prohibits the decommissioning of diagonal runways at O’Hare, which prevents Chicago from eliminating two runways that can help better distribute flights around the airport.
Bensenville is asking its residents to contact their local state legislators to express support for the bills.
