The Warrenville City Council held its annual budget workshop on March 14.
An overview of the state's financial condition was presented by City Administrator John Coakley. Kevin Dahlstrand, the finance director, also provided a summary of the major funds in the budget, including performance and projections for the next fiscal year.
The fiscal year for the city runs May 1 to April 30. Pursuant to state law, the budget must be balanced and adopted prior to May 1.
Discussions relating to the 2016 budget will take place over the next few weeks, with adoption of the budget targeted for April 20. After the state adopts its budget, the council will revisit the city's 2016 budget.
