DuPage County will host a meeting to discuss the East Branch DuPage River Watershed Resilency Plan in Wheaton City Hall at 5 p.m. today.

The plan is part of the county's preparations for future flood control. The watershed covers the central portion of DuPage County from Addison into Will counties.

DuPage County Stormwater Management Committee Chairman Jim Zay said the meeting will afford county residents the opportunity to participate in the process.

"Residents and business owners who are still trying to recuperate from past floods are looking for ways to be involved in this planning process, and these meetings are a great way for them to interact with the county," he said. "We want to ensure everyone has a seat at table."

Attendees at the meeting will have a chance to submit ideas and provide input.

Zay said a previous meeting on the topic was helpful and provided useful information.

"The input we received in our last meeting, ranging from green infrastructure projects to education and outreach initiatives, has really helped shape the resiliency plan," Zay said.

Wheaton City Hall is at 303 W. Wesley St.
