Applications are now being accepted by Darien's Municipal Services Department for the position of general utility III.
Candidates for the position must be motivated and customer service-minded and have an understanding of construction techniques, as well as experience using the tools of the trade.
The Municipal Services Department is divided into the street and water divisions. Applicants for the position will provide service to the community in the streets division, including snow plowing, completing restorations, maintaining roadways and ditches and mowing grass.
In addition, the position will support water system repairs, including but not limited to repairing water mains, meters, hydrants and valves.
If hired, a CDL license is required within six months of the start date. Additionally, employees will be on 24 hour call.
Desirable candidate qualities include experience in construction related fields, including plumbing or carpentry.
Salary for the position is between $38,588 and $58,263. The position also includes a benefits package.
Applications for the position will be accepted at Darien City Hall at 1702 Plainfield Road until the position is filled.
