The Village of Westmont's Coat Drive had a record year.
"The employees of the Village of Westmont want to thank everyone who participated in this year's coat drive," a post on the village's website said. "Not only was there a record amount of donations, but there was also a record amount of participation by community organizations and public agencies."
Collection boxes were available at the park district, library, Maercker School District, School District 201, the Westmont Fire Department, Westmont Police Department and the Village Hall.
"We are so thankful for the community's generosity. We could not have done this without the help of everyone involved," Patti Mielcarski, administration and human resources assistant, said.
The village delivered 274 items to the People's Resource Center for distribution to area residents in need. Another 203 items were delivered to the FISH Pantry.
The Village of Westmont's offices are at 31 W. Quincy St.
