Senator Seth Lewis and Representative Jennifer Sanalitro to host Medicare seminar April 20
State Senator Seth Lewis and State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro are inviting residents to a free Medicare information seminar scheduled for April 20 in Itasca. The event will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Itasca Park District Waterpark’s Hideaway Room, located at 100 N. Catapla Street.
The seminar aims to help attendees better understand the federal Medicare program, which can be complex for both current enrollees and those nearing eligibility age. According to Lewis on Apr. 8, “The federal Medicare system can be tricky to navigate, and it is important that enrollees ensure they have adequate coverage between Medicare and supplemental plans that are available.” He also said, “We are bringing in experts who can help current enrollees understand the system, and help those approaching Medicare eligibility prepare to apply for coverage.”
Representatives from the Illinois Department on Aging will lead an overview of topics including eligibility requirements, enrollment processes, benefits, and other relevant details about Medicare. A question-and-answer session will follow their presentation. The event encourages participation from both current enrollees as well as individuals approaching eligibility age; family members may also attend.
Lewis was elected as a Republican state senator in 2023 representing Illinois’ 24th Senate District after succeeding Suzy Glowiak according to the Daily Herald.
