Court denies pre-trial release for school bus driver accused in DUI incident

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Tom Wirsing announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for a Naperville woman accused of crashing a school bus that transports special needs children. Lauren Williams, 34, of the 4S700 block of Innisbrook Drive, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Aggravated DUI – School Bus Driver (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Driving too Fast for Conditions or Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Juvenile detained after bringing loaded gun to Lombard high school

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Tom Wirsing announced today that Judge Demetrios Panoushis has ordered that a Glendale Heights juvenile accused of bringing a loaded gun to a Lombard high school will be held in custody until at least his next court appearance. The juvenile, a fourteen-year-old male, is charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon in a School (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (Class 4 Felony).

Former Villa Park man sentenced to seventy years for stabbing girlfriend

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that a former Villa Park man was sentenced to seventy years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of Esmeralda DeLuna, 24, his live-in girlfriend and mother of their three children.
