DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Tom Wirsing announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for a Naperville woman accused of crashing a school bus that transports special needs children. Lauren Williams, 34, of the 4S700 block of Innisbrook Drive, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Aggravated DUI – School Bus Driver (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Driving too Fast for Conditions or Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Tom Wirsing announced today that Judge Demetrios Panoushis has ordered that a Glendale Heights juvenile accused of bringing a loaded gun to a Lombard high school will be held in custody until at least his next court appearance. The juvenile, a fourteen-year-old male, is charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon in a School (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (Class 4 Felony).

Marco-Antonio Rubio, 29, appeared at his sentencing hearing yesterday in front of Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh, who handed down the sentence. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 Commander Andrew Anselm announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for a Schaumburg man accused of sexually abusing an Uber driver yesterday morning. Chenna Borra, 30 (d.o.b. 6/6/1994) of the 0-100 block of Wildflower Lane, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 4 Felony).
A Chicago man on parole for previous armed robberies has been sentenced to 38 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The sentence follows his conviction for robbing a gas station and a convenience store at gunpoint on the same day in June 2021.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick announced that Judge Robert Gibson has granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for three men accused of robbing a Downers Grove man at gunpoint on September 28, 2024. The defendants, Javari Williams, 18, Tremaine Nelson, 18, and Tyray Hemphill, 22, appeared in court charged with armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated vehicular hijacking.
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and his office welcomed their newest team member, Duo Dog “Crew,” to the office. DuPage County Clerk of the Circuit Court Candice Adams administered Crew’s oath of office at a ceremony attended by many of Crew’s new colleagues. Following the ceremony, Crew, a twenty-month-old Labrador Retriever, took time to introduce himself to his fellow employees and posed for photographs.
