Northern Illinois tops Kent State 5-2 in April 12 baseball game featuring Wyatt Wawro

On Sunday, April 12, at 1 p.m., former Downers Grove South High School standout Wyatt Wawro’s current college team, the Northern Illinois Huskies, defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes 5-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball contest.

Ralph McKinzie Field at Walt and Janice Owens Park hosted the game, which marked the third meeting between the teams this season. With this result, the season series remains even.

Wawro tallied one hit in three at-bats, scoring one run, bringing in two RBIs, and drawing one walk.

The Huskies’ next matchup is set for Tuesday, April 14, at Duffy Bass Field with the Illinois State Redbirds.
