North Park’s Mike Vuckovic earns second CCIW men’s basketball weekly honor for strong performance
North Park University junior guard Mike Vuckovic has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. The honor comes after Vuckovic scored 26 points in North Park's 95-84 win over North Central, a conference game held on Saturday.
Vuckovic was the top scorer in the match and played a key role in helping North Park come back from a double-digit deficit in the second half. His performance marked his third game this season with at least 20 points. He made nine out of fourteen shots from the field and set a career high by making five out of seven three-point attempts. Vuckovic also played 37 minutes during the game.
With this latest recognition, Vuckovic becomes the first player to earn multiple CCIW weekly honors during the 2025-26 season. During Saturday’s comeback, he made all five of his three-pointers after North Park trailed 55-45 with just over sixteen minutes left to play. Besides scoring, he added seven assists, six rebounds, and two steals.
The CCIW has named several student-athletes for its weekly basketball award this season: Soren Richardson from Wheaton received it on December 8; Kolden Vanlandingham from North Park on December 1; Noah Cleveland from Illinois Wesleyan on November 24; Mike Vuckovic previously on November 17; and Lane Thomann from Millikin on November 11.
