North Central College senior Randy Reed and Carthage College senior Tyler Rose have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made Wednesday morning, recognizing their performances during recent competitions.

Randy Reed, representing North Central, competed at the Pat Heenan Invitational. He recorded a personal-best time of 22.00 seconds in the 200-meter dash on a flat track, which is currently the fastest in the CCIW and ranks sixth nationally in NCAA Division III this season. This result also places him third on North Central’s all-time indoor list for the event.

In addition to his performance in the 200-meter dash, Reed achieved another personal best in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 6.88 seconds. This ties for the top time in the conference, ranks 21st nationally, and stands as North Central's second-fastest indoor mark for that event. Earlier this season, Reed set a school record at North Central in the 300-meter dash.

Tyler Rose from Carthage was honored as Field Student-Athlete of the Week after winning both throwing events at the Firebird First Invitational. His efforts contributed to Carthage securing its second straight team victory during this indoor season. Rose posted personal-best throws of 16.37 meters in shot put and 18.95 meters in weight throw.

Rose currently leads all CCIW athletes in both events. Nationally among Division III competitors, his weight throw ranks third while his shot put is ranked fourteenth. The shot put distance also places him fifth on Carthage’s all-time indoor list.

The weekly recognition by CCIW continues a tradition of highlighting outstanding student-athlete achievements within its member institutions.
