Elmhurst's Woods and Illinois Wesleyan's Ogunribido earn weekly CCIW track honors

Elmhurst sophomore Carmela Woods and Illinois Wesleyan junior Imani Ogunribido have been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week.

Woods competed at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational, winning the 400 meters with a time of 57.87 seconds. According to CCIW, this performance currently places her first in the conference and fifth nationally in Division III. Woods also finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.90 seconds, which ranks sixth in the CCIW and 31st nationally.

Ogunribido participated in Friday’s Titan First Chance Meet held in Bloomington. She achieved a personal best and set a new school record in the triple jump by clearing 12.53 meters, ranking her first in Division III by nearly half a meter. Ogunribido also tried the long jump for the first time at the collegiate level, recording a mark of 5.60 meters, which is third best in the league and seventh nationally.
