Elmhurst's Kristin Bukata earns third CCIW weekly honor for basketball performance

Elmhurst University junior guard Kristin Bukata has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office.

Bukata averaged 26.5 points, 10.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game over two CCIW matchups. She currently leads NCAA Division III in both total assists, with 133, and assists per game at 8.3.

Her performance included a standout game in Elmhurst’s 95-67 win over North Park on Saturday, where she tied the school’s single-game record by delivering 12 assists without a turnover in 31 minutes. She also contributed 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting and collected five rebounds as Elmhurst scored 74 points in the paint.

Earlier in the week, Bukata played all 40 minutes during a close 73-70 loss to Carthage, tallying a game-high 27 points along with nine assists, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block.

The CCIW also released its list of Women’s Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week for the current season. Other honorees include Natalie Gricius of Carroll (Jan. 12 and Dec. 1), Sawyer White of Illinois Wesleyan (Jan. 5), Biz Daly of North Central (Dec. 15), Nikkel Johnson of Millikin (Dec. 8), Anna Kleszynski of Elmhurst (Nov. 17), and Grace Cord of Carthage (Nov. 11). Bukata has now received this recognition three times this season.
