Performances at the Coach Shoe Invitational led to weekly honors from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) in women’s indoor track and field. Elmhurst University’s Tiana Grady was named Track Student-Athlete of the Week, while Illinois Wesleyan University’s Gwendolyn Boettinger earned Field Student-Athlete of the Week.

Grady achieved victories in both the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles for Elmhurst. She recorded a time of 7.83 seconds in the 60-meter dash, which was the only sub-eight-second result by an Elmhurst athlete at the meet. Shortly after, she won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.99 seconds, leading an Elmhurst sweep in that event. These performances place her second in the conference for both events this season.

Her early season form continues a strong start, following a podium finish in December’s Blue Demon Holiday Invite.

Boettinger, competing in her second collegiate meet for Illinois Wesleyan, won the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 1.65 meters (5-5). This result places her first among CCIW athletes and ties her for eighth nationally in NCAA Division III rankings. The height also moves Boettinger into third on Illinois Wesleyan’s all-time indoor top-10 list.

Illinois Wesleyan had ten individual event winners at their home meet and saw 44 personal-best performances across their roster.

“Tiana Grady turned in one of the busiest and most productive days of the meet, winning two events in a span of just minutes for the Bluejays,” according to CCIW officials.

“Boettinger performed well in just her second collegiate competition, delivering a first-place finish in the high jump at the Coach Shoe Invitational,” stated CCIW representatives.

Other recent CCIW weekly honorees include Carmela Woods from Elmhurst and Imani Ogunribido from Illinois Wesleyan.
