CITY OF WARRENVILLE: Crime Alert

City of Warrenville issued the following announcement on July 24.

On Monday, July 23, 2018, Warrenville Police Officers responded to numerous calls for service from residents after their unlocked motor vehicles were burglarized. 

All of the incidents occurred during the overnight hours of 07/22/18-07/23/18. These burglaries occurred on the 2S500 block of Dogwood Court, 30W000 block of Maplewood Drive, and the 29W500 and 29W600 block of Winchester Circle North. 

The offender targeted loose change and cash. In two of the vehicle burglaries, a garage door opener left inside the vehicle was utilized to gain access to the garage. 

During one of the vehicle burglaries, an unsecured bicycle that was left in front of the residence was also stolen. 

These incidents are under investigation.

Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles when parking them outside of their residences’ and not to leave items in their vehicles in plain view.
