City of Elmhurst City Council met Nov. 17

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. Call to Order - Mayor Levin called the meeting to order at 7:59pm.

2. Public Hearing - Mayor Levin called the public hearing to order at 8:00pm.

2.1 Public Hearing on the Tentative Annual 2026 Budget

There were no public comments. Alderman Nardini moved to adjourn the hearing. Alderman Virgil seconded. A voice vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously.  Hearing closed at 8:02pm.

• Matt Barcus - Spoke in regard to federal activities with a call to action.

• Rita Dianati - Spoke in regard to ICE and a safe place in medical facilities.

Alderman Brennan pulled item 6.8 to bring back to committee. Alderman Talluto pulled item 6.11. Alderman Nardini moved to accept the consent agenda minus items 6.8 and 6.11.

6.11 Alderman Talluto moved to accept the ordinance. Alderman Nudera seconded. Alderman Brennan moved to amend the ordinance by an increase in the three items in senior services to original level. Alderman Irby seconded.

7. Reports and Recommendations of Appointed and Elected Officials

Mayor Levin - No report

City Manager Grabowski - New badges for city hall handed out to council members. New Communications Manager Michael Queroz to begin on Wednesday. Citizen's survey can be found on city website, it is given every two years. City Hall closed 11/27 and 11/28. Leaf pickups on 12/3, 12/4, and 12/5 with your pickup date.

Alderman Baker delivered an update on the Ohare committee.

7.2 Mayor Levin -Referrals Report by Mayor had opportunity for discussion.

8. Ordinance (s)

8.1 O-38-2025 - An Ordinance Authorizing the Purchase of one 2026 Pierce Enforcer Pumper/Rescue Fire Truck and Authorizing the Disposal of One 2009 Pierce Pumper/Rescue Truck (See Item 6.9)

Alderman Brennan moved to accept the ordinance. Alderman Sienko seconded. Alderman Brennan requested council to suspend the rules to act quickly as there is one truck that became available the city can obtain.
