Augustana's Tyler Leslie and Carthage's Taydin Murphy earn CCIW weekly honors
Tyler Leslie of Augustana and Taydin Murphy of Carthage have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday after both athletes delivered notable performances in recent competitions.
Leslie competed at the Grinnell Invitational, where he helped Augustana secure a second-place finish among nine teams. He achieved individual victories in the 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle, and 200 backstroke. Additionally, Leslie contributed to the Vikings’ win in the 800 freestyle relay, which set a new meet record by two seconds, and also took part in a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.
Murphy represented Carthage in a dual meet against Illinois Tech last Saturday. The sophomore from Minooka, Illinois, won both diving events and posted his best scores of the season: 252.20 on the 1-meter board and 274.20 on the 3-meter board. This marks Murphy’s fifth CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season.
The CCIW also provided a list of weekly honorees for swimming and diving for the ongoing season, highlighting repeated recognition for both Leslie and Murphy.
